I got my new BX2230 about a month ago. Love the way it works. However started having hydraulic problems, could not raise the deck after 20 -30 minutes of operation. It has 17 hours on it so I returned to the dealer yesterday. he say it sound like a heat problem that causes a valve to stick.
We'll see - stay tuned.
What implements do you have??

I've got FEL,4'box blade and a 54"mid mower...
wanted a rear bagger but found it hard to spend
$1,400.00 just to pick up leaves in the fall!
But I do a lot of composting for our garden and flower
beds so I need to come up with something!

tsjr54, I would be interested in how the BX2230 handles the box blade, as your tractor is comparable to mine in weight and HP. I am considering purchasing a 4 ft box blade. My tractor is that blue color(NH), 24hp, 4x4, turf tires, and bare tractor weighs 1310lbs. You may have to load your FEL to assist in traction, I don't have a FEL, but could add front bumper weights. ....

Try a tow-behind leaf sweaper. You can even use it while mowing. Those units are cheap, but can be frustrating to use due to light-duty construction and easy clogging. BUT... as long as you're only interested in compost material and not a spotless lawn, it would be a very cost effective alternative. They are ground wheel driven, so plan on adding weight with cinder blocks to help it work better. ....

tsjr54: I was having the same debate on weather to get the bagger for my 2230, but decided that some insentive from the dealer($) and including it on the financing of the whole package, the quality was well worth the added expense. Having the complete package it a plus, rather than a hodgepodge of mix and match parts.
Their bagger is really second to none, it's amazing how well it works. (especially now that I know the trick to mounting it!!)

I got the last one he had on the lot. When the tractor was delivered, the driver told me they couldn't keep in them. I got mine the first week of June and he said they had already sold 6 or 7. I know what you mean about the rain, I live in Central Ky and we have had a wetter than normal spring. Set records for the month of May. ....

I had an old 18 hp Ford with 42 mmm and 5 hp Briggs vacaumn on the back. It was a pain to use compared to the new BX2230 with 60mmm and Kubota rear bagger.
The old unit was always getting clogged up, plus you had to get off the tractor to start and stop the seperate unit.
The Kubota has only clogged once on me, I was cutting a full 60 inch with of very tall wet grass right after it stopped raining ( I know you are not suppose to do that, but that was the only time I had)
The Kubota is much easier to install check out AV8R's web site he has good instructions on installing it.
Buy the Kubota vacumn, you will not be sorry if you use it.
You do not have to mow 2 or 3 times a week in this wet weather when the grass grows overnight Once a week works fine with the bagger. ....
